Islamabad, May 22: President Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmed Bhat in a statement here in Islamabad has demanded that the detained Hurriyat Leadership must be released by Indian government amidst the pandemic coronavirus outbreak in Kashmir and India.
Jails are hot spots for the spread of deadly COVID-19 disease and Indian jails lack Standards of Hygiene and Health facilities, which could be deadly for the inmates, specially Hurriyat Leaders who are detained to suppress their voice and refrain them from the demand of Right to Self Determination. Bhat added.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat further said that in the odd of COVID-19 Indian state have been killing Kashmiri Youth, demolishing houses, lotting cash, Jewellery and other valuables, which is a punitive act of Fascist regime.
Bhat said that firstly force’s have destroyed 15-20 houses of besieged Kashmiris in the holy month of Ramazan, and then Indian police have registered an FIR against the people who are raising donations for the families whose houses were destroyed during a cordon and search operation in Nawakadal area of Srinagar.
Bhat said that, Hurriyat Leaders including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Zafar Akbar Bhat, Mussarat Alam Butt, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Dr Hameed Fayyaz, Asiya Andrabi and Yaseen Malik who are under detention must be released from Jails as there are higher chances of Corona Virus Outbreak in Jails.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat asserted that The United Nations need to play their part in this difficult time. He appealed to the world leaders and International organization should play their role in saving human lives and convince India to release all Kashmiri leaders unconditionally and immediately.
