Srinagar, August 20 : Senior Huriyat Conference JK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah Wednesday after meeting Pak High Commissioner at New Delhi said that it seems that GOI was looking for an excuse to cancel the foreign secretary level talks.
According to KMW correspondent, Shah while addressing newsmen at his Srinagar residence said that he held talks with Pak High Commissioner Abdul Basit for two hours in New Delhi and conveyed him the ground situation in Kashmir.
Shah stated that he maintained before Mr Basit that till resolution of Kashmir is not the top agenda of the Indo-Pak talks, no other disputes between the two countries could be resolved.
He maintained that the other issues pertaining to both countries are of the least importance as Kashmir is the humanitarian issue and needs to be resolved in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
Shah also lashed out at the Congress for protesting against the meeting.
Sha also maintained that Kashmir is not an internal affair as the whole world talks about it and that why was [U.S. President] Barack Obama allowed to speak about it when he came to India . Sha said that EU parliamentarians , U.N. General Secretary Ban Ki-moon all have come to India and said the Kashmir issue should be resolved , so why were they allowed to come here why were there no protests?â€.
