IUST Observes Vigilance Week in Collaboration with ACB

Awantipora, Oct. 30: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is observing Vigilance Week for which a special program was held in the campus today in collaboration with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K.

In his address as Chief guest, Prof. A.H. Moon, Dean of Academic Affairs, emphasized on the critical role of academia in fostering good governance and upholding principles of integrity across all sectors. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Economic Offences Wing (EOW) ACB, stressed on the importance of vigilance and anti-corruption efforts in law enforcement. Dr. Ahmad stressed the necessity of rigorous investigations and stringent enforcement to safeguard public trust and institutional integrity.

Mr. Sameer Wazir, Financial Officer IUST, spoke on the university’s financial oversight mechanisms, reinforcing the importance of vigilance in safeguarding institutional resources from corruption and misuse, and Dr. Rumaan Bashir, Controller of Examinations, highlighted the importance of vigilance, accountability, and transparency in academic administration, stressing their role in maintaining the university’s reputation and trustworthiness. The program was coordinated by Dr. Tariq Ahmad, Programme Coordinator, National Service Scheme (NSS) IUST, with the active participation of faculty, staff, students, and volunteers.
