Srinagar: The three interlocutors, appointed by New Delhi to finds political solution to Kashmir imbroglio, will arrive on weeklong visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
As per the itinerary schedule of the delegates, the interlocutors will spend four days in Jammu division while the three days have been kept for Kashmir.
Official sources told KMW the three interlocutors, journalist Dileep Padgaonkar, academician Radha Kumar and economist M.M. Ansari, would devote most of their prearranged time in border Poonch and Rajouri districts. Soon after their arrival in winter capital, sources said, the panel would have couple of meetings in Jammu. They will proceed towards Poonch next morning, they said. During their stay in Poonch, they said, the panel would interact with various sections of the society.
On next day, December 19, the interlocutors are secluded to meet people from different walks of life in district Rajouri. On December 20, the panel would return back to Jammu and would leave for Srinagar on next day, December 21. They would return back to New Delhi on December 23.
The group has already submitted their first report to New Delhi as well as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wherein it has recommended political and administrative measures.
In the report, the group has suggested expediting cases of undertrials, permitting peaceful protests, releasing militants and protestors against whom there are no serious charges among others.
The group also recommended training of forces, identifying jobs for young men and women in central and State Government offices, announcing scholarships for Kashmiri students, enhancing monetary assistance to widows and orphans, efforts to trace missing persons and increasing monthly allowances to Kashmiri Pandits, a home ministry release had said.
The report submitted to the Government by the group of interlocutors was based on their visit to the State from October 23 from 28 and November 9 to 14.
During their stay in the State, the interlocutors had visited Baramullah, Uri, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Leh and Kargil districts and met political and community leaders, minority representatives including several groups of Kashmiri Pandits as well as refugees from PaK, it said.
The interlocutors were appointed on October 13 to hold sustained dialogue with a wide range people to draw up a road map for a permanent settlement of the political problem in the state.
