Srinagar, Mar 27 (KMW): Pitching for inclusion of people of Kashmir in Indo-Pak talks, Huriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday said his amalgam will start a valley wide campaign to pitch for ‘Kashmir first, Kashmiri first’ during the dialogue process.

“We have neither given the right to India, nor to Pakistan for speaking on behalf of us,” Mirwaiz said amid slogans while addressing Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid here. He said that the people of Kashmir are the primary stake holders during the dialogue process between India and Pakistan for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
“We will not allow India to dictate terms as Kashmiris are the main stake holders while as India and Pakistan come second. We are not the cannon fodder that could be intimated about their fate while India and Pakistan sit and talk,” the Huriyat (M) chairman said.
He maintained that the bilateral talks over Kashmir have so far failed yield any results with the Kashmir issue hanging since decades. “We will present our case ourselves as there is no one who knows better than us the pain that we had to undergo during the conflict. Our stand is clear and that is Kashmir first and Kashmiri first during the Indo-Pak talks over Kashmir resolution,” said Mirwaiz.
He added that his amalgam in near future is starting a valley-wide campaign so that the world comes to know that without the inclusion of Kashmiris, the talks over the resolution are futile and will not yield any desired results. “I had a meeting with Pak envoy in New Delhi and he assured me to raise the issue with the GOI that talks over Kashmir cannot be held without the inclusion of the people of Kashmir. It has been the slogan of the people here that Kashmir which we nourished by our blood is ours,” Mirwaiz said with the pro-Azadi slogans reverberating within the masjid.
Huriyat (M) chairman said there will be no solution to Kashmir issue without the ‘self representation’ while condemning the GOI over its recent remarks that only bilateral talks will be held between India and Pakistan for the resolution of Kashmir. “It should be understood by all the Kashmir dispute is not the issue of electricity, roads and drains but about the future of the people of Kashmir.”
Meanwhile, he pitched for the separate dates of entrance examinations being held at Aligarh Muslim University and by the BOPEE here. “We appeal that the dates must not be similar so that students who appear at the entrance at Aligarh could also appear in BOPEE exams,” he said.
