Budgam, March 9: Pakherpora is a historic place in Kashmir and has been abode of Sufis and Saints.
The residents of the area are suffering badly and want to bring to the kind notice of authorities about the troubles that the residents of this town suffers because of being merged with district Budgam.
The Distance parameters make no match of Pakherpora being part of the Budgam District.
Pakherpora to Budgam =56km
Pakherpora to Srinagar= 41km
Pakherpora to Shopian= 22km
Pakherpora to Pulwama=17km
The town Pakherpora and its adjacent areas are surrounded by Four Districts: Srinagar ,Budgam, Pulwama and Shopian
Each at a distance of 41km, 56km,17km and 22km respectively.
So by the logic the preferred location of Pakherpora is to be brought under jurisdiction of Pulwama District and on second preference to Budgam District.
Sajad Wani, a local resident of Pakherpora ,while talking to the Kashmir Media Watch stated :” The Pakherpora area is full of potential and an important area having been abode of great personalities , but it is unfortunate to note that despite being 56 kilometers away from the Budgam District Headquarters we have been since long been part of the Budgam District . By every sane rationale we should be part of the Pulwama district which is just 17 kilometers away from us, while as even the Shopain District Headquarters is just 22 kilometers from Pakherpora .We urge higher authorities to look into the matter.”
