Full Dress Rehearsal for Independence Day Celebrations Held at Kargil

Kargil, August 13: The full-dress rehearsal for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations was held today at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Byamathang, Kargil.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, unfurled the National Flag in presence of SSP-Kargil Shree Ram R, Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Kargil; Joint Director (Finance), Joint Director (Planning), District Panchayat Officer, HQA to DC-kargil, Executive Officer, MC-Kargil  and other Officers from the Police and Civil  Administration.  Male and female school contingents, NCC cadets and the Ladakh Police Band presented march past on the occasion in the run-up to the 79th Independence Day.

In his address, the ADC appreciated the efforts of the contingents, participants and media for their dedication and hard work. He extended greetings on the occasion of Independence Day and expressed hope for the successful conduct of the celebrations on August 15. He also extended an open invitation to the people of Kargil to join the Independence Day function.

The ADC also reviewed various arrangements at the venue, and other necessary preparations. As part of the event, a drama depicting the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and a patriotic skit titled Aakhiri Mulaqat were presented on the occasion.
