Fire in Kashmir University

Srinagar: Fire broke out in the Bio-technology department of the Kashmir University (KU) this morning, damaging computer, lab and other property.

A spokesman of the fire headquarter said that fire broke out in the department at 0633 hrs and the first fire fighting engine was on the spot within ten minutes.

He said the fire brought under under control before it could spread to other departments.

Official sources said 15 computers, lab, furniture and roof of the department besides other equipments were damaged in the fire.

The cause of fire was not known, they said adding no one was injured.
