Srinagar: The State Human Rights Commission has issued notice to Director General, Inspector General Kashmir Zone and SP Kupwara following a complaint by Chairman International Forum for Justice/Human Rights Forum J&K, Ahsan Untoo, about the harassment of his family in the frontier district.
“Perused a complaint by Ahsan Untoo. The contents of the complaint discloses a case of human rights violations,” SHRC member Javaid Ahamd Kawoosa said in an order issued here. “Issue notices to DGP, IGP Kashmir and SP Kupwara and SHO police station Sogam for filling their respective reports. Case put up on 21-10-2011,” the order reads.
In his complaint, Untoo has alleged that police was harassing his family and that he was worried and apprehended harm from police agencies.
He has alleged that due to “impeding security threats” he has stopped his children from going to school.
