Doon International School Jammu was transformed into a vibrant spectacle of yellow and gold as it celebrated the joyous occasions of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti . Embracing the spirit of rich harvest festivities, the school radiated with the colors that symbolized the essence of these cultural celebrations.
The event, meticulously organized to immerse students in the cultural heritage of India, was a testament to the school’s commitment to celebrating diversity with enthusiasm and reverence. The school premises were transformed into a picturesque setting, resonating with the essence of the bountiful harvest season.
The celebrations commenced with a soulful ‘Guru Ka Shabad Kirtan,’ setting a spiritual tone for the event, followed by a series of captivating dance performances that enthralled the audience.
Dressed in traditional Punjabi attire, the students added to the festive aura with their colorful outfits, ornate accessories, and beaming smiles. Engaging activities such as speeches and poetry recitations provided students with insights into the significance of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti, enriching their understanding of these auspicious occasions. The highlight of the celebration was a captivating Bhangra and gidda performance followed by a skit depicting the values, teachings and inspirations of the life of Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
The Chairman Mr. G.N Tantray and the Principal Dr. Vikesh Kaur also appreciated the outstanding performances of the students, commending their dedication and enthusiasm in showcasing the essence of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations.
