Kargil, August 10: Continuing with the series of activities held in the district as a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Tourism Department Kargil, in collaboration with Downhill Kargil organized a Tiranga cycle rally here today.

The rally was flagged off by Rakesh Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil in presence of Muhammad Ali Tak, Assistant Director Tourism Kargil, and Imteyaz Ali, member Downhill Kargil at Tourist Facilitation Center (TFC) Biamathang.

Held under the nationwide initiative to promote patriotism and national pride,  around 30 cyclists from different parts of the district participated in the rally which after passing through different routes of Biamathang, Kargil Market, Byepass Shilikchey and Kako Shilikchey and back concluded at TFC.

The cycle rally played a significant role in spreading the message of unity, patriotism, and national pride. By bringing together cyclists from different backgrounds, the event fostered a sense of community, brotherhood and unity.

The rally aimed to encourage people to hoist the national flag at their homes and celebrate India’s independence with enthusiasm and patriotism, and to build a personal and emotional connection with the Tiranga.

Chanting slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Ghar Ghar Tiranga’ , ‘Tiranga Hamari Shaan Hai Bharat Ki Pehchan Hai’ the enthusiastic bicycle riders also reached out to local people and apprised them about the importance of National Flag and to bring the national flag home and display it with pride from August 13 to August 15. 

The cycle rally reiterated the collective resolve of the citizens of Kargil to uphold the values of independence, unity, and democracy. It also aimed to reinforce the importance of the national flag as a symbol of our country’s sovereignty and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
