Chief Secretary takes stock of Durbar Move arrangements in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, APRIL 25: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma, today reviewed the arrangements made in connection with the annual Durbar Move from Jammu to the summer capital Srinagar with the opening of offices scheduled on May 8.

The Chief Secretary took a first-hand appraisal of the arrangements by visiting the Civil Secretariat and Budshah Flats and New Phase employees colonies at Tulsi Bagh.

He was accompanied by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, B B Vyas, Principal Secretary, Home, R K Goyal, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan, DIG Central Kashmir, G H Bhat, Director Estates, Dr G N Itoo, Director Floriculture, Mohammad Hussain and other concerned officials.

The Chief Secretary directed the concerned officials to make all the necessary arrangements, including allotment of office accommodation and accommodation in hotels for durbar move employees. He also instructed the security officials to put in place all necessary security arrangements for the Civil Secretariat and Government residential colonies.

For comfortable stay of employees in the summer capital, the Chief Secretary asked the officials to make sure proper arrangements of sanitation, cleanliness and drinking water are made.

He also directed the officers of concerned departments to ensure that renovation and repair works in all the Government residential colonies is completed as soon as possible.
