Kargil, October 08: The University of Ladakh, in collaboration with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, today inaugurated a one-month free Crash Course and Mentoring Programme for aspirants of the Kargil Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (KSSRB) and Leh Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (LSSRB) at the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, Professor Saket Kushwaha, attended as the Guest of Honour. Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba Mussavi was present as the Special Guest.
The event was also attended by Dr. Mehboob Ali, In-charge Administration, Kargil Campus; Dr. Jaffer Khan, Dean, School of Social Sciences and Course Coordinator; Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Course Coordinator; and members of the teaching faculty of the University of Ladakh.
The programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Mehboob Ali, who praised the initiative and assured that the course would be conducted with full dedication and energy. He expressed gratitude to the LAHDC, particularly to CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, for conceiving the programme aimed at supporting local aspirants. He further informed that 156 registrations have been received so far and extended heartfelt thanks to the teaching faculty for volunteering their services to this noble cause.
In his address, CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon commended the initiative, emphasizing its importance in empowering and guiding the youth of Kargil to excel in competitive examinations. He stated that the students of the district possess immense potential but need proper direction and mentorship to succeed. Appreciating the University of Ladakh’s teaching faculty, he lauded their voluntary contribution beyond their regular academic responsibilities and assured that the ongoing academic schedule of the campus would not be affected.
Dr. Akhoon extended special appreciation to Vice Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha for facilitating quality coaching free of cost and for supporting LAHDC Kargil in implementing this programme.
In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha expressed his satisfaction over the collaboration between the University of Ladakh and LAHDC Kargil in launching such a meaningful initiative. He highlighted the university’s commitment to providing equal academic and competitive learning opportunities to students from remote areas like Kargil.
