Kargil, August 23: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, today inspected the ongoing construction work of the new conference hall building at council secretariat.

During the visit, the concerned AEE from the R&B Department briefed the CEC that the new conference hall building will consist of two floors, including a conference hall at the first floor and an assembly hall at the second floor. He further informed that the construction work is in progress at good pace.

The CEC directed the department officials to ensure that the first floor, which is the conference hall should be completed within this working season along with the necessary furniture. He also instructed the concerned officers to carry out landscaping of the Secretariat compound and expedite the construction of the main gate.

In addition, Dr. Akhoon emphasized the need for winter-friendly toilets for male and female separately and directed the concerned officer to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of local winter-friendly toilets within the premises.
