Kargil, Dec 27, 2024: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh at a condolence meeting recognizing his outstanding contributions to the nation’s growth and development.

During the ceremony, Executive Councillor, Aga Syed Mujtaba, Executive Councillor Kacho Mohd Feroz, Executive Councillor Er. Punchok Tashi besides staff of LAHDC were present.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Kargil said Dr. Manmohan Singh’s leadership and vision have been instrumental in shaping India’s economic landscape. “His commitment to social welfare and inclusive growth has inspired generations of Indians,” he said.

Dr. Akhoon highlighted Dr. Singh’s achievements, including introduction of significant economic reforms, liberalizing trade and investment, and stimulating rapid economic growth.

The CEC said Dr. Singh’s administration launched several landmark social welfare programs, such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the Right to Information Act (RTI).

He added that Dr. Singh’s government increased investments in education and healthcare, expanding access to quality services for millions of Indians.

Dr Akhoon said Singh’s legacy serves as a reminder of the power of dedicated public service and visionary leadership. “We honor his contributions to our nation’s progress and express our deepest gratitude for his selfless service,” the CEC said.
