CEC Kargil distributes solar water heaters to beneficiaries under CCDF procured by KREDA

Kargil, Dec 28: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today distributed solar water heaters to beneficiaries through Councillor Constituency Development Fund (CCDF) procured by Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA).

During the distribution ceremony, Executive Councillor, Kacho Mohd Feroz, Councillor Aga Syed-ain-ul Huda, Director FCS&CA, Tahir Zubdavi, Project Director, KREDA besides other officials were present.

The CEC was informed that the solar heaters were purchased under the CCDF and a total number of 950 beneficiaries were identified all over the district.

He also informed that 200 liters solar water heaters were purchased at a cost of Rs 26,000 and under it subsidy will be provided to the beneficiaries at a cost of Rs 7000.

Similarly, 100 liters water solar heaters were purchased at a cost of Rs 15,000 and provided to the beneficiaries at a cost of Rs 4,000.

Project Director KREDA also said that after the formation of UT Ladakh, around 5,000 solar water heaters were distributed. 

The CEC appreciated the efforts of KREDA Kargil for their dedicated service to the people adding that the KREDA project has a lot of potential in solar renewable energy in Kargil.
