CEC Kargil Chairs Meeting with SAI on DPR for Sports Facilities

Kargil, September 16: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired an important meeting with Ms. Manjushree, Executive Director, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Regional Centre Chandigarh, along with officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Ladakh, to deliberate on the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of sports infrastructure on the land allotted to SAI in Kargil.

The meeting was attended by Administrative Secretary, Higher Education/School Education/Technical Education & Skill Development/Youth Services & Sports, Banu Prabha (Virtually), Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Ladakh,Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, representative of SAI Kargil, Mustafa, and officials from the Youth Services and Sports Department, Kargil.

Welcoming the Executive Director of SAI, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon appreciated her visit and initiatives for bringing such vital projects to Kargil. He highlighted the immense sports potential and natural talent of the youth in the region, emphasizing that with proper infrastructure, vision, and guidance, the district could emerge as a hub for sporting excellence. He assured that LAHDC Kargil would extend full cooperation and support to ensure timely completion of the projects.

The CEC also expressed gratitude to Administrative Secretary Ms. Banu Prabha, Executive Director Ms. Manjushree, Joint Director,Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, and the entire team for their tireless efforts in advancing the cause of sports in Kargil. He further stressed the need to expedite the execution of these projects without delay for the welfare and betterment of the youth.

Administrative Secretary, Ms. Banu Prabha, thanked the Executive Director for her visit and acknowledged the vision of CEC, LAHDC Kargil, for prioritizing sports infrastructure. She assured full administrative coordination and timely execution of the projects.

Ms. Manjushree, Executive Director, SAI, presented detailed insights into the sanctioned projects, their scope, and execution process. She outlined the development of infrastructure for various indoor and outdoor sports disciplines and sought continued support from LAHDC Kargil and the administration for their smooth implementation.

Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Mr. Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, also extended gratitude to the visiting team and the LAHDC leadership. He highlighted the ongoing and pipeline projects and assured that the department would ensure proper facilitation and monitoring of all initiatives.

Before concluding the meeting, it was decided that the foundation for some of the sanctioned projects would be laid by November this year.
