Kargil, November 05: CEC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today attended the celebration of the 556th Prakash Purab (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurudwara Charan Kamal, Kargil. The event was marked by deep devotion, joy, and a spirit of unity among the devotees.
The celebrations began with the recitation of Akhand Path and melodious Kirtan, which filled the Gurudwara Sahib with divine serenity and spiritual warmth. A large gathering comprising the civil sangat and Army sangat participated in the event, offering prayers and reflecting upon the timeless teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Gurus.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon highlighted the universal message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, emphasizing compassion, humility, equality, and service to humanity. He appreciated the efforts of the local Sikh community for preserving the rich spiritual and cultural traditions that promote harmony and brotherhood in Kargil.
The celebration concluded with the serving of Guru ka Langar, where devotees partook in the sacred meal, embodying the spirit of equality, humility, and community service — the core values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings.
