Islamabad, Jan 26(KMW): APHC Convener (AJK) Fayaz Nashbandi has urged India to stop human rights violations and lift communication lockdown in Kashmir.
“India has a right to celebrate its republic day,” said Naqshbandi, “but UN resolutions should be implemented in J&K.” Naqshbandi was addressing a protest rally outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
“Human rights abuses should stop and the world must intervene,” he said. Naqshbandi appealed the world bodies to impress upon India to end the unending spree of human rights violations of various forms. “UN peacekeepers should be deputed in Kashmir to monitor the situation and report the abuses,” said the Hurriyat convener.
The rally was attended by various Kashmiri leaders based in AJK. Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party (PPP) convener Mian Muzaffar said in his address that India’s republic day is Kashmiris’ black day. The protesters also released black balloons in the air as a mark of protest against India on its republic day.
