Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian discuss Muhurram requirements with CM

SRINAGAR: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian led by its General Secretary, Nissar Hussain Aalamgir Thursday afternoon met Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here and discussed various issues pertaining to Muharram arrangements and processions on 8th and 10th of Muharram from Shaheed Gunj and Abi Guzar, Srinagar.

The delegation while recognizing the Chief Minister’s initiatives for upgrading Muharram arrangements and allotting substantial funds to the concerned Deputy Commissioners for ensuring facilities and improving basic amenities in the areas where from processions are taken and Muharram Majalis organized, they highlighted the need for proper monitoring of fund at the highest level and ensuring its physical impact on the ground.
The delegation said that the Chief Minister has during last three years enhanced Muharram funds and there is need for further enhancement of these funds to cater to the needs of people. It suggested launch of works relating to Muharram arrangements at least two months ahead of the commencement of the Holy Month so that arrangements are placed well in time.
The delegation also requested for adequate supply of electricity, water supply, LPG, kerosene and other essential commodities to the people during the month of Muharram. It also emphasized on cleanliness of lanes, drains and roads to facilitate processions and Majalis.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the deputation and said that the issues brought to his notice by the Anjuman through the memorandum presented to him in the meeting would be given due consideration.
The other members of the delegation included Zonal Secretary of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian, Mohammad Yaseen, Chief Organizer, Ghulam Mustafa Rather and Member, Dr. Ghulam Ahmad. (KMW News)
