He said, “Despite heavy snowfall in several parts of Kashmir that posed mobility challenges, our teams on the ground displayed exceptional dedication and commitment to ensure the successful achievement of the 2626 disbursal milestone set for the drive. Their sense of responsibility and customer-centric approach truly reflects the Bank’s institutional strength and its resolve to deliver even under challenging conditions.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mission Director, Mission YUVA, Shahzad Alam described the Bank’s engagement with the programme as phenomenal. “It is amazing to see the manner in which J&K Bank has owned Mission YUVA since its launch in June 2025. Despite being a flagship programme of the UT Government, J&K Bank has emerged as the principal stakeholder in terms of participation and contribution,” he said.

Highlighting leadership involvement, Mission Director Shahzad Alam added that the active monitoring and participation of the Bank’s senior management had commendably strengthened the implementation process.

“Appreciation from the top leadership at both the Government and Bank levels has greatly boosted the morale of officials working on the ground,” he said, while thanking all stakeholders for ensuring continuous and effective implementation of the programme.

In his remarks on the occasion, Executive Director Sudhir Gupta lauded the UT Government’s vision and guidance in making the Mission YUVA successful.

He further said, “Mission YUVA has emerged as a comprehensive program for channelizing institutional credit towards entrepreneurship, particularly in sectors that generate local employment along with long-term economic value. Today’s event highlights the Bank’s role as a key development partner in promoting youth-led entrepreneurship in alignment with the ideals of the Republic and the vision of Aatmenirbhar Bharat.”

Earlier, General Manager (Retail, Agriculture and MSME – RAM) Rakesh Magotra briefed the dignitaries about the specific disbursal drive and its operational details. While commending the perseverance of the staff on the ground in achieving the targeted numbers despite bad weather, he further said, “The idea of the drive that started from 15th January was to create 2626 new enterprises in Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of country’s Republic Day.”

Pertinently, under the supervision of the Bank’s Retail, Agriculture and MSME (RAM) Vertical, Zonal and Cluster Heads closely monitored the progress throughout the day and provided on-the-spot support to branches to ensure smooth implementation and achievement of the targeted outcomes. As part of the Republic Day special disbursal milestone, branches proactively followed up with beneficiaries and completed all pre-disbursement formalities well in advance, thereby ensuring operational readiness for same-day credit.
