Afghan President Karzai telephones PM Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Afghan President Hamid Karzai telephoned Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Tuesday and thanked for the hospitality extended to him during his recent visit.

The Afghan President informed the premier about his meetings with Pakistan’s political leaders and termed these encouraging and constructive.

President Karzai underscored Pakistan’s importance in the peace process in Afghanistan and reiterated his request for Pakistan’s assistance to the reconciliation process.

Prime Minister Gilani assured Afghan President that Pakistan would wholeheartedly support a peace process in Afghanistan that is Afghan-owned and Afghan-led. (KMW NEWS)
