Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday revoked the suspension of Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (IuM) headed by Moulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari after 40 days. “After the report by two member disciplinary committee, it was unanimously decided to revoke the suspension of Itehad-ul-Muslimeen,” Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said in a statement after chairing an executive committee meeting of the amalgam here on Wednesday. “The meeting also hoped that all the other allies would play their role in safeguarding the collective discipline of the amalgam,” Mirwaiz added.   On April 21 last, Mirwaiz had issued notice to head of IuM, Masroor Abbas Ansari, seeking an explanation from him about his father Moulana Abbas Ansari’s meeting with the three member New Delhi panel on April 20. On April 27 last, IuM replied to the show cause notice by the Mirwaiz, terming the suspension from executive council of Hurriyat Conference (M) as ‘unconstitutional and unfortunate.” Following the reply, Mirwaiz constituted a two-member committee to probe the circumstances which led to meeting between Abbas Ansari and interlocutors.In its report, the committee comprising of Aga Hassan and Prof Abdul Gani Bhat had recommended ending the suspension of Ansari. IuM is among the founder constituents of Hurriyat Conference and one of the parties which have representatives in the highest decision-making body, the Executive Committee.  Abbas Ansari was also the chairman of the Hurriyat Conference. )
