New Delhi, Oct 16 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest the assembly elections “in full force” in the North-Eastern state of Mizoram as part of its organisational expansion, a top leader announced on Monday.
The party will soon announce the number of seats it will contest, the party’s north-east states in-charge Rajesh Sharma told the media.
The decision to expand the organisation and contest the Assembly polls in Mizoram was taken on Sunday at a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal,
“A coordination committee and a North-East cell will be formed for organisational expansion,” Sharma said.
“North-East Cell will be formed for the people of the North-East. Furthermore, the AAP will also participate in the upcoming Mizoram assembly elections. The details of the number of seats contested and the constituencies will be provided by the state committee, and an announcement regarding the same will be made soon,” Sharma said.
Keeping in mind the hopes and aspirations of the people of the North-East, the party is embarking on the journey to contest the Mizoram elections.
AAP accused the BJP of doing divisive politics. “In states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur, where the BJP is in power today, they have initiated divisive politics in a forceful manner. In the North-Eastern states, the BJP has started divisive politics by dividing communities,” alleged Sharma.
