6 people injured in grenade blast in Kashmir

Srinagar: Six people, majority of them children, were injured when an unexploded grenade went off at Rajpora in south Kashmir distict of Pulwama, a police spokesman said here this afternoon.
He said the grenade went off when the debris of a house which was damaged during an encounter between Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants and security forces Hanjan Panyeen at Rajpora in Pulwama on July 8, were being removed.
He said six people, majority of them children, who were watching at a distance received splinter injuries.
The injured Farooq Ahmad Hajam, Asif Ganaie, Muzamil Mir, Bilal Ahmad Dar, Fiazan Ahmed Mir and Amir Hassan Wagay, all local resident, were admitted to hospital.
He said later four of the injured were referred to Srinagar where the condition was Farooq was stated to be critical.
