Kangra, Mar 4 :Four people, including a woman, werekilled and nine others injured in six road mishaps at Kangradistrict during the last 24 hours, police said here today. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ashok Verma said Kholavillage resident youth Rajat (24) died on the spot atTakipur, on Matour-Shimla Highway, while Manoj Kumar andBabu were injured when their motorcycle dashed against anHRTC bus, coming from opposite direction, at Takipur. The bus was on its way from Shimla to Pathankot. Theinjured were rushed to Takipur Hospital for treatment. Vijay Kumar of Nagota Kudian Jawalamukhi died when hismotorcycle got imbalancd due to overspeed near Malan onChamunda road and dashed against the parapet late last night. He was rushed to DRPGMC Tanda, where doctors declared himbrought dead. DSP Verma said pedestrian Jai Shri Ram (85) of villageold Matour was hit by a motorcycle and rushed to DRPGMCTanda, where he succumbed to his injuries. In another road accident late last night, a car dashedagainst a tree at Rajol on Pathankot-Mandi national highway,leaving its three occupants Sandeep Manhas, Ajeet Manhas anddriver Chander Dev Manhas, all residents of Jammu, injuredand they were rushed to DRPGMC Hospital at Tanda. A woman was killed on the spot and a man injured, when atractor overturned near Army area at Holta, KangraAdditional Police Chief Shiv Kumar said. The injured wasadmitted in Vivekananda Hospital near Holta. DSP Ashok Verma said that three youths were injured whentheir motorcycle skid off the road at village 39 Milefalling under Shahpur police station late last night and allthe three injured were brought to DRPGMC Tanda for treatment. Police registered cases under respective Sections 279,337 and 304 A of the Indian penal Code against the erring drivers. (News Agency)
