2 JeM Militants Killed in Awantipura: Army

Srinagar, Oct 04 : Army Sunday claimed to have killed two militants in a joint operation with Police in Tral area of Pulwama District. One Army soldier was injured during the operation.
In a statement issued to KMW, an army spokesperson said that it has killed two foreign JeM militants.
“Based on specific intelligence about the presence of some militants in village Kaigam, Pulwama district, a joint operation was launched by the Army and JKP Sunday afternoon. As the cordon was being tightened around the suspected area where the militants were hiding, the militants opened a heavy volume of indiscriminate fire following which an intense exchange of fire ensued.
The encounter which lasted till about 6PM Sunday resulted in the killing of two JeM militants identified as Adil Pathan and Burmee”. The operation has also led to the recovery of two AK47 rifles and other war like stores from the slain militants.
One Army trooper who sustained a gunshot wound was immediately evacuated and his condition is reported to be stable.
