State Snow Rugby Sevens begins

Director Tourism inaugurates the Championship.

GULMARG: The 2-days State Snow Rugby Championship which was inaugurated by Director, Tourism Kashmir, Mr. Farooq Shah is being organized by J&K Rugby Association at Golf Course, Gulmarg from March 18 and 19, 2012.
In his interaction with the 15 teams from different parts of the J&K, the Director expresses his happiness & said that Snow Rugby is getting popular day & day youths are enjoying the sports of the Snow Rugby & one day will come that Snow Rugby will be the feature of the Winter National Games & Rugby Association of J&K State is working very hard for the promotion of Snow Rugby not only in the State but throughout the country. He appreciated the role of the Association in the said mission, young boys and girls show their skills before the chief guest & said that Tourism department will always help to promote the event of snow rugby in the country as the Gulmarg is the best platform for the Snow Rugby & in future tourism will help further for this International event.
The teams from Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kargil, Baramulla, Tangmarg, Pulwama & other club teams & some institutional teams also took part in the championship.
The result of the first day in the boys section, Jammu Rugby team emerges winner. Kargil Rugby team runners up, Srinagar Rugby team secured 3rd place. (KMW NEWS)
