Islamabad, November 26: Adviser on Foreign Affairs says an agreement on energy cooperation among SAARC countries is likely to be signed tomorrow. The 19th SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Summit will be held in Pakistan. This was announced by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz while addressing a news conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday. He said the SAARC leaders have reiterated their commitment to move forward in different fields. Sartaj Aziz said an agreement on energy cooperation among the SAARC countries is likely to be signed on Thursday (Nov. 27), and accords for links through railway and roads would also be finalized shortly. The Adviser said the presidents of Sri Lanka and Maldives will visit Pakistan early next year. He said there is no possibility of a scheduled meeting between the prime ministers of Pakistan and India on the sidelines of the SAARC Summit. Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan wants to see China as a permanent member of SAARC and it also supports to give observer status to Turkey.
