Meet people than Tweeting: Samriti tells Omar

Jammu:Member Parliament and BJP’s Mahila Morcha National president Samriti Irani today asked Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to interact with people than ‘tweeting’ on mirco-blogging site.

“On one hand people are fed up of wrong policies of the UPA led government at the Centre and on the second hand, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mr Abdullah remains busy on Tweeter rather meeting people and solving their issues,” Ms Irani told reporters at the sidelines of ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ here this afternoon.

Ms Irani alleged that Mr Abdullah has time to Tweet but has no time to meet people and know their problems.

“Jammu and Kashmir is facing problems like hours long power cuts, unemployment, corruption but the Chief Minister is busy on micro-blogging site Tweeter rather than meeting a common man,” she said.

On BJP’s support to P A Sangma for presidential post, Ms Irani said, “this is for the first time BJP has supported a tribal candidate for the post of President.” Meanwhile on internal rift between NDA over presidential candidate, Ms Irani said, “there is no rift between NDA over the candidate. NDA is united. Though there was difference of opinion over presidential candidate but internally, NDA is strong and united.” On Mantralaya inferno in Mumbai, the BJP leader said, “it might be easy for the government to order probe into the fire episode but there are apprehensions that it was a move to destroy the records having names of ministers involved in the Adarsh Scam.” “The names of two former Maharashtra Chief Ministers, who presently holding charge of cabinet ministers in UPA led government surfaced into the Adarsh Scam,” she alleged and said things have become transparent as the record has got completely destroyed in the fire.
