789 pilgrims leave for Amarnath, Buddha Amarnath Shrines

Jammu A fresh batch of 789 pilgrims today left for the holy cave Shrines of Shri Amarnath and Buddha Amarnath situated in South Kashmir Himalayas and Poonch district of Jammu region under tight security arrangements.

The pilgrims for Amarnath Cave Shrine left from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatrai Niwas base camp here.

“A batch of 575 pilgrims comprising 388 males, 87 females, 10 children and 90 sadhus left for the Amarnath Shrine in a convoy of 20 vehicles including 19 State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses and one light motor vehicles,” an official spokesman said.

As many as 214 pilgrims, including 129 males, 64 females and 21 children also left for Buddha Amarnath shrine in a convoy of six vehicles amid tight security arrangements.
